A Non-profit Yoga Program to Enhance Teen Health & Self Confidence

Standing on Your Own Two FeetTM is a non-profit program created by master yoga instructor Holiday Johnson to encourage the development of potential in young people through the practice & wisdom of yoga. The course emphasizes fitness with awareness, personal development, self-esteem, & the importance of lifelong health habits.

Please consider giving a donation to Standing on Your Own Two FeetTM yoga program. Holiday will happily be accept donations by check or in cash.

As many of you already know, Holiday is extremely passionate about offering yoga classes to teenagers, particularly those who are "at-risk" or under the kind of intense stress that is all too common for teenagers today.

More than a decade ago, Holiday established Standing on Your Own Two FeetTM as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The teen program is totally separate from Holiday's yoga business, & does not earn any profits. Any teaching fees Holiday obtains while teaching teens are funneled directly back into the program. Holiday actually teaches many of her offsite classes for teens at no charge.

Throughout its 25-year existence, this program has been taught in numerous Portland-area high schools (as both an elective & as a credit class), middle schools, & through organizations that serve abused, delinquent, homeless, & HIV-infected teens. We estimate that teens have attended these classes more than 6,000 times over the program's history.

In addition, Holiday offers free monthly workshops for teens. Teens also may attend any of the yoga studio's regular classes at half price or at no cost, depending upon their ability to pay. Holiday offers all yoga classes at no charge to teenagers & full-time teachers of teens several months during the year.

However, it isn't easy to offer these free & discounted classes. Holiday still incurs travel, mailing, and overhead expenses. That's where you can help! Could you donate the cash equivalent of just one drop-in yoga class ($15) to the teen program? We'd be happy to accept you donations before or after class. You can also mail a check, made out to Standing on Your Own Two FeetTM, to the address at the bottom of this page. All donations to the program are tax-deductible & we'll give you a receipt.

Holiday is also actively submitting grant proposals to a variety of Oregon foundations to help support the teen program. You can help us by suggesting foundations that you know would be interested in teen yoga. Please let Holiday know if you have any ideas. We'll follow up for more information.

Thanks, as always, for your support of this important project. Don't you wish you had been exposed to yoga when you were a teen? We hope you will consider donating as little as $15 -- or even more! -- to the Standing on Your Own Two FeetTM program today.
